Kristen and Clem’s wedding was a heartfelt, cross-continental celebration that beautifully reflected their life together and the communities that shaped them. As an LGBTQ+ couple living in France, they honored both of their worlds by hosting celebrations in Minnesota and France, ensuring loved ones on both sides could be part of their story. Their Minnesota wedding took place at the American Swedish Institute, a meaningful nod to Kristen’s Scandinavian heritage. The ceremony unfolded on the grand front steps of the mansion, followed by a courtyard reception that felt intimate and welcoming. Personal details were thoughtfully woven throughout—from table names inspired by the many cities they’ve lived in to Swedish wedding spoons used to share their cake—blending cultural tradition with their own modern narrative.

The design embraced a light, modern wildflower aesthetic—colorful and organic without feeling overwhelming. Florals featured a soft yet vibrant mix of hues, striking a balance between playful and refined. As the evening transitioned indoors to FIKA for dancing, the atmosphere shifted into a lively celebration, enhanced by bold, multicolored uplighting that brought energy and movement to the space. The result was a wedding that felt deeply personal, joyfully expressive, and effortlessly reflective of their journey together.
