Planner Profile-Elizabeth

Elizabeth has had a passion for Wedding and Event Planning her entire life. Since entering the industry in 2014, she has acquired hands-on experience in creating bridal floral, event design and event coordination.

Elizabeth lives in Forest Lake with her husband and four children.

Now let's get to know Elizabeth better with some fun questions!

1. Tell me about your background in events?

I entered the industry in 2014 working as a Office Manager and right-hand to a local wedding florist and gained hands on experience with weddings and events in both design and planning. I then worked for a local floral wholesaler (that is how I met Jenna!) to dip my toes further into the industry. I was able to network, attend events and meetings, and begin making a name for myself. I could feel the passion for planning stirring and it was a nudge I could not walk away from. Next thing I knew, I left my job and launched my own Wedding and Event Planning company in 2016 while, at the same time, working at a local venue as a Venue Coordinator. Well, life has a funny way of intervening and 2 years and 2 more kids later, life had become a bit....busy. While I personally LOVE and LIVE for busy, my personal company just had to take a backseat to 4 kids (2 under 1.5), my husband's work hours, and a special needs daughter. I knew I did not want to walk away from weddings since this is my passion! By divine intervention one day my dear friend and colleague, Jenna, reached out to me for a coffee date! When Jenna extended a job position my way as a Lead Planner with her company, I was blown away. Grateful is an understatement. To have an opportunity to tend to my family on days when I am not working, and then step away and into wedding bliss is perfect. I truly love my career choice and those I get to work with! Who doesn't want a job that doesn't feel like "work"? Find what you are passionate about and do that!! For me, that's Wedding and Event Planning!

2. What is your favorite part of a wedding?

It's when the bride walks down the aisle and while everyone is watching her, I'm looking at the groom because I love the way he is looking at her in that moment. The entire world stops and it's just them. It's honest, it's raw and, to me, it's breathtaking. I also love the little moments I get with the couple before their first look, little moments with the bride before she walks down the aisle or the conversations that are filled with laughter, love and pure happiness after the ceremony is over. I really treasure those moments from each wedding day.

3. Do you have a favorite style of wedding that you like to work on?

I truly enjoy taking each couple's vision, their hopes and their dreams for their Big Day and bringing that to life. One of my favorite wedding styles to work on would have to be the Whimsical Style. It allows for a lot of creativity and blending different elements. I enjoy the subtle and soft feel, with bold accents that this style can offer. It has a very romantic vibe, and makes a beautiful impact upon entry to the event.

4. Tell us about yourself (your family, hobbies, etc…)

Well! I am Elizabeth Ashley, I am in my early 30s, married for 6.5 years to my husband and have 4 beautiful children. I am a Special Needs Momma to my daughter, and a Hockey Mom to my three boys! A hobby of mine would be working out. It's therapy and something I truly enjoy, all in one! I am a Homeschool Momma to our youngest 2 boys, and possibly soon here to my daughter as well! In my spare time you can usually find me researching something or lost in a book.

5. Tell us one funny quirk you have that not a lot of people would know about you.

My intuition, it's crazy, but somehow always spot on and accurate about whatever the matter-at-hand may be.

6. What’s your favorite color palette for a wedding?

Oooo this is a good one! I have to be honest, I really love most color palettes because there is so much you can do with it and many ideas you can run with. BUT! I realllllly love Earthy Tones. Earthy tones can be Blush, Sage and Gold Accents, or Rust, Beige, and Sage, even your Burgundy or Wines and shades of Greens; etc. You catch my drift, I REALLLLY love Earthy Tones.

7. Explain your personal style and personality by choosing 3 famous people, brands or movies/books that you feel most exemplify who you are.

Mmmmm....Marilyn Monroe, Lorelai Gilmore (even add a dash of Rory in there), and a pinch of Practical Magic. Can we add more ingredients?? I got a few more!
